HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream 1% is a mild topical corticosteroid used to relieve inflammation, redness, itching and irritation caused by eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, allergic rashes and irritant skin reactions.

It works by reducing the skin’s inflammatory response, helping to calm flare-ups quickly and effectively. HC45 is suitable for short-term treatment of mild inflammatory skin conditions.

Available over the counter in the UK for adults and children over 10 years (younger children only on medical advice).

Active Ingredients

Hydrocortisone 1% w/w (Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, swelling and itching.)

Other Ingredients

May include:

Cetomacrogol emulsifying wax

Liquid paraffin

White soft paraffin

Chlorocresol

Sodium dihydrogen phosphate

Phosphoric acid

Purified water

 

 

  • Apply a thin layer to the affected area 1–2 times daily.

  • Gently rub into the skin until absorbed.

  • Do not use for more than 7 days unless advised by a doctor.

  • Do not apply to broken, infected or acne-affected skin.

  • Avoid use on the face unless directed by a healthcare professional.
  • For external use only.

  • Not suitable for children under 10 years without medical advice.

  • Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.

  • Avoid contact with eyes.

  • Do not use on fungal, viral or bacterial infections unless treated.

  • Stop use if irritation worsens.
