Foundayo Constipation: What Helps and When Should You Worry?

Does Foundayo cause constipation?

Yes.

Constipation is classed as a very common side effect of Foundayo.

Changes in appetite, food intake, fluid intake and gastrointestinal function can all contribute to altered bowel habits during GLP-1 treatment.

What can help constipation on Foundayo?

Simple measures are a good place to start:

  • maintain adequate fluid intake
  • remain physically active
  • gradually increase suitable dietary fibre
  • include fruit and vegetables where appropriate
  • don't routinely ignore the urge to open your bowels.
  • Remember that substantially increasing fibre without drinking enough fluid can sometimes worsen constipation.

Can I take a laxative with Foundayo?

Some patients may require additional constipation treatment.

The appropriate option depends on the severity of your symptoms, other medicines and your wider medical history.

When should Foundayo constipation be reviewed?

Seek medical advice if constipation becomes persistent or difficult to manage.

Seek urgent assessment if constipation is accompanied by:

  • severe abdominal pain
  • substantial abdominal swelling
  • vomiting
  • inability to pass wind or stool.
