Who is Quviviq suitable for?
It is suitable for adults whose insomnia symptoms have lasted for at least 3 months and are having a meaningful impact on daytime functioning. It is used in adults with symptoms on 3 or more nights per week.

How do I take Quviviq?
The recommended adult dose in the attached material is one tablet once a night, every night, taken within 30 minutes before going to bed.
Should I take it every night?
Yes.
What if I forget to take it?
If you forget to take Quviviq at bedtime, do not take that dose later during the night.
Can I take it with food?
Yes. It can be taken with or without food, but it may take longer to work if taken with, or soon after, a large meal.
Can I drink alcohol while taking Quviviq?
No. Patients should be advised to avoid drinking alcohol with Quviviq.
Can I drive after taking Quviviq?
You should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery unless you feel fully alert, especially in the first few days of treatment.
Should I avoid grapefruit?
Yes. You should avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking Quviviq (daridorexant) because it can significantly increase the concentration of the drug in your blood, leading to a higher risk of serious side effects.
Who should not take Quviviq?
- Narcolepsy
- Hypersensitivity to daridorexant or its ingredients
- Concomitant use of strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as itraconazole, clarithromycin, or ritonavir.
Is Quviviq suitable in liver problems?
Patients with moderate hepatic impairment may need 25 mg, and it is not recommended in severe hepatic impairment.
Can it be used in pregnancy?
There are no data in pregnant women, and it should only be used if the clinical condition requires treatment.
Do I still need good sleep habits?
Yes. Patients are advised to continue to practise good sleep habits while taking Quviviq.
Is Quviviq addictive?
Quviviq (daridorexant) is not considered addictive when taken as prescribed, and clinical studies showed no evidence of physical dependence or withdrawal symptoms, even after long-term use.
