Phenergan 25mg Tablets contain promethazine hydrochloride, a sedating antihistamine used to relieve certain allergic symptoms, prevent or treat nausea and travel sickness, and provide short-term treatment for insomnia in adults.

Promethazine belongs to a group of medicines called phenothiazines. It blocks the effects of histamine, a substance released by the body during allergic reactions. It also acts on the central nervous system, which can cause significant drowsiness.
