Imodium Original 2mg Capsules provide effective relief from sudden, short-term diarrhoea.

Each capsule contains loperamide hydrochloride 2mg, an anti-diarrhoeal medicine that works by slowing down an overactive bowel. This allows more water and salts to be absorbed from the bowel, helping stools become firmer and reducing how frequently you need to go to the toilet.

For the treatment of sudden short-term diarrhoea in adults and children aged 12 years and over, treatment begins with 2 capsules, followed by 1 capsule after each further loose bowel movement.

Do not take more than 6 capsules in 24 hours and do not use for longer than 48 hours without medical advice.

It is important to drink plenty of fluids when experiencing diarrhoea. Oral rehydration products may also help replace fluids and salts that have been lost.

Imodium treats the symptoms of diarrhoea rather than its underlying cause. Stop taking it when symptoms settle.
