Germoloids Haemorrhoids & Piles Ointment 55ml provides symptomatic relief from the pain, swelling, irritation and itching associated with haemorrhoids (piles) and anal itching. It is suitable for both internal and external piles.
The ointment contains two active ingredients:
Lidocaine hydrochloride 0.7% w/w – a local anaesthetic that helps numb the affected area, relieving pain and itching.
Zinc oxide 6.6% w/w – has astringent, antiseptic, soothing and protective properties, helping reduce swelling and protect sore, irritated skin.
Unlike Germoloids Cream, the ointment has an oily, lubricating base. This provides emollient and lubricating properties that can help make passing stools more comfortable and reduce further irritation from straining.
For adults and children aged 12 years and over, apply at least twice daily, leaving at least 3–4 hours between applications. Further applications can be made when required, particularly after a bowel movement, but do not use more than 4 times in 24 hours.
For internal piles, use the applicator supplied with the pack. For external piles, apply the ointment directly to the affected area.
