Corsodyl 1% w/w Dental Gel is an antimicrobial dental treatment containing chlorhexidine digluconate 1% w/w.
It helps inhibit the formation of dental plaque and can be used as an aid in the treatment and prevention of gingivitis, helping manage problems such as red, swollen or bleeding gums.
Corsodyl Dental Gel also has a number of other oral-health uses. It can help with the management of recurrent mouth ulcers (aphthous ulcers) and recurrent oral candidal infections such as oral thrush, and can be used as part of an oral-care regimen following periodontal treatment or surgery.
For general gum treatment, adults and children aged 12 years and over should brush their teeth thoroughly with approximately one inch of gel on a moistened toothbrush once or twice daily for around one minute. Spit out excess gel and do not rinse after use.
For gingivitis, a treatment course of approximately one month is recommended.
Corsodyl Dental Gel can cause temporary staining of the teeth and tongue and may temporarily alter your sense of taste. These effects are generally reversible.
