How does Rennie Deflatine work?

Rennie Deflatine contains two antacids that neutralise excess stomach acid, helping to relieve heartburn and indigestion.

It also contains simeticone, an anti-foaming agent that helps break up trapped gas bubbles in the stomach and bowel, making them easier to pass and reducing bloating and discomfort.

Who can use Rennie Deflatine?

Rennie Deflatine may be suitable for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over experiencing occasional heartburn, acid indigestion or trapped wind.

Who should not use Rennie Deflatine?

Rennie Deflatine may not be suitable if you:

  • Are allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • Have severe kidney disease.
  • Have high calcium levels (hypercalcaemia).
  • Have kidney stones caused by calcium deposits.
  • Are under 12 years of age.

Speak to your pharmacist or healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medicines.

Directions for Use

Always use Rennie Deflatine as directed.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over

  • Chew or suck 1–2 tablets when symptoms occur.
  • Repeat as required.
  • Do not exceed 11 tablets in 24 hours.
  • If symptoms persist for more than 14 days, seek medical advice.

Take other medicines at least 2 hours before or after Rennie® Deflatine, as antacids can affect their absorption.

Possible Side Effects

Rennie Deflatine is generally well tolerated.

Possible side effects include:

  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
  • Stomach discomfort
  • Nausea

 

Rarely:
