Anusol Plus HC Suppositories provide targeted treatment for internal haemorrhoids (piles) and itching around the anus. They contain hydrocortisone alongside protective and soothing ingredients, making them particularly useful where piles are associated with inflammation and irritation.
Each suppository contains hydrocortisone acetate 10mg, zinc oxide 296mg, bismuth subgallate 59mg, balsam Peru 49mg, bismuth oxide 24mg and benzyl benzoate 33mg. Hydrocortisone provides an anti-inflammatory action, while several of the other ingredients have protective, mildly astringent and antiseptic properties.
For adults aged over 18 years, insert one suppository at night, one in the morning and after a bowel movement when required, up to a maximum of 3 suppositories per day. Treatment must not exceed 7 days unless directed by a doctor.

How do I use Anusol Plus HC Suppositories?
Wash and gently dry the anal area, remove the wrapper and insert one suppository into the anus. Wash your hands before and after use.
How many can I use each day?
Use one at night, one in the morning and after a bowel movement when required, up to a maximum of 3 suppositories in 24 hours.
How long can I use them?
Use for a maximum of 7 days. Prolonged or excessive use of topical corticosteroids can increase the risk of unwanted corticosteroid effects.
Can I use Anusol Plus HC Suppositories during pregnancy?
No. The current UK SmPC specifically states that Anusol Plus HC Suppositories must not be used during pregnancy.
Can I use them while breastfeeding?
No. The current SmPC also states that they must not be used while breastfeeding.
