Sominex 20mg Tablets are a night-time sleep aid for temporary disturbances of normal sleep patterns, including difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep.
Each tablet contains promethazine hydrochloride 20mg, a sedating antihistamine that causes drowsiness and can help with temporary sleep difficulties.
For adults and young people aged 16 years and over, take one tablet at bedtime. If sleep is difficult to achieve, the tablet may be taken up to one hour after going to bed.
Sominex is for short-term use only. Do not use it for longer than 7 days without seeking medical advice. If natural sleep does not return within 7 days, or you experience repeated episodes of sleeplessness, speak to your doctor.
Do not drink alcohol while taking Sominex. Promethazine causes sedation and can impair alertness, so take particular care with activities such as driving or operating machinery.
