Foundayo Nausea: Why It Happens, How Long It Lasts and What Can Help

Does Foundayo cause nausea?

Yes. Nausea is classed as a very common side effect of Foundayo.

Clinical studies found gastrointestinal effects to be among the most frequently reported adverse effects of orforglipron. Most were mild or moderate.

Why does Foundayo make you feel sick?

Foundayo activates GLP-1 receptors and can delay how quickly the stomach empties.

It also reduces appetite.

Together, these effects can mean that the amount of food you previously ate comfortably may suddenly feel too much.

Eating beyond the point of comfortable fullness may make nausea more noticeable.

When is Foundayo nausea most likely?

Nausea can occur at any stage, but clinical studies showed that nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea occurred more frequently while the dose was being increased and generally decreased over time.

What can help nausea on Foundayo?

Some simple changes may help:

  • eat smaller meals
  • eat more slowly
  • stop eating when comfortably full
  • avoid particularly fatty or rich meals
  • avoid eating very large meals
  • drink fluids regularly
  • consider smaller amounts of fluid more frequently if large drinks make you feel uncomfortable.
  • Try to identify whether particular meals consistently trigger symptoms.

How long does Foundayo nausea last?

There is no fixed duration.

For many patients, gastrointestinal symptoms settle as the body becomes accustomed to treatment.

If nausea continues, becomes progressively worse or prevents you from eating adequately, speak to your healthcare professional.

Should I increase my Foundayo dose if I still feel sick?

Not automatically.

Foundayo dose increases should take account of tolerability as well as treatment response.

If you are still experiencing significant nausea when your next dose increase is due, discuss this with your prescriber first.

Can nausea medication be used with Foundayo?

Sometimes additional treatment may be considered, but the right medicine depends on your symptoms, medical conditions and other medication.

Seek clinical advice if nausea is persistent, worsening, associated with repeated vomiting or stopping you from maintaining adequate nutrition or hydration.

Severe and persistent abdominal pain, particularly with vomiting, requires urgent medical assessment because acute pancreatitis is an uncommon but important adverse effect of orforglipron.
