Foundayo Vomiting: What to Do and When to Seek Help

Can Foundayo cause vomiting?

Yes. Vomiting is listed as a very common side effect of Foundayo.

It may be more noticeable when treatment begins or while increasing doses.

You can read more about Foundayo side effects and what you may experience during treatment.

What should I do if I'm vomiting on Foundayo?

One of the main priorities is preventing dehydration.

If feeling sick is also a problem, see our guide to Foundayo nausea for practical advice.

If you can tolerate fluids, try taking small amounts regularly rather than drinking a very large amount at once.

Once vomiting settles, gradually return to small meals as tolerated.

Why is dehydration important?

The Foundayo SmPC warns that nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea can cause dehydration and volume depletion.

In some people this can contribute to deterioration in kidney function, including acute kidney injury.

When should vomiting be reviewed?

Contact a healthcare professional if you:

  • repeatedly vomit
  • cannot keep fluids down
  • feel faint or unusually weak
  • are passing significantly less urine
  • have symptoms that are getting worse
  • continue vomiting after a dose increase.

When is vomiting potentially serious?

Seek urgent medical assessment if vomiting occurs alongside:

  • severe or persistent abdominal pain
  • pain spreading towards the back
  • significant abdominal swelling
  • inability to pass stool or wind
  • jaundice
  • severe dehydration.

How Pharmulous can help

Persistent vomiting shouldn't simply be accepted as an unavoidable part of weight-management treatment.

At Pharmulous, our clinicians consider whether symptoms are related to dose escalation and whether your treatment plan needs reviewing.

Let our clinicians know if you are ever concerned about your symptoms.
