Opticrom Allergy Eye Drops contain sodium cromoglicate 2% w/v, an anti-allergic treatment used to relieve and prevent red, itchy and watery eyes caused by hayfever and other allergic conditions (allergic conjunctivitis).

Sodium cromoglicate works by stabilising mast cells in the eye, preventing the release of histamine and other substances that trigger allergic symptoms. It can be used both to treat active symptoms and to prevent symptoms during allergy season.

Suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and over.

Active Ingredients:

Sodium Cromoglicate 2% w/v

(Each 1ml contains 20mg sodium cromoglicate.)

Other Ingredients:

Benzalkonium chloride (preservative)

Disodium edetate

Purified water

Adults and children aged 6 years and over:

Instil 1–2 drops into each affected eye four times daily.

If needed, this may be increased to up to 6 times daily.

How to use:

  • Wash hands before use.

  • Tilt head back and gently pull down lower eyelid.

  • Apply drop without touching the eye.

  • Close eye for a few seconds after application.

  • Contact lenses should be removed before use and can be reinserted after 15 minutes.

For use in the eyes only.

Do not use if allergic to sodium cromoglicate or any ingredients.

Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 2 days.

Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye.

Do not use while wearing soft contact lenses.
