Otex Ear Drops 8ml are a Pharmacy medicine used to help remove hardened earwax from the ear canal.

They contain urea hydrogen peroxide 5% w/w. When applied to the ear, it releases oxygen which helps break hardened wax into smaller pieces. Glycerol and urea also help soften the wax, making it easier to remove naturally or, where necessary, professionally.

Otex is suitable for adults, children and older people. Place up to 5 drops into the affected ear, keep the head tilted for several minutes and then wipe away any excess. Repeat once or twice daily, normally for at least 3–4 days or as required.

Do not use Otex if the eardrum is known or suspected to be damaged, or where there is dizziness, ear pain, discharge, inflammation, infection, tinnitus or another ear disorder. It should also not be used within 2–3 days after ear syringing or following attempts to remove wax with cotton buds, fingernails or similar objects.
